Simmerman, MS, is a veteran public health and health promotion professional and consultant with over 33 years of experience helping communities create more people-oriented places and a "Culture of Activity" through proven "All Ages & Abilities" design concepts and evidence-based behavior change initiatives.

John's main focus is to educate and inspire city leaders, advocates, and community members by profiling the people, places, and programs within aspiring, emerging, and established Active Towns via his multi-platform media efforts, which include public speaking, video production on the Active Towns Channel on YouTube, and on his weekly  Active Towns Podcast: Conversation About Creating a Culture of Activity.
