Derrick Smith is the Principal of A+S Architects, Planners, P.A. in Miami with a Masters of Architecture from Harvard University. He has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science: Interior Design from Florida State University.

His career has led him to work with illustrious Architectural firms Like DPZ, Ferendino, Grafton, Stills Candela, both of Miami and Robert A.M. Stern Architects in New York City. Derrick serve the community of Seaside as an Independent Designer and ultimately the Town Architect in 1985.
